About Country Gates, Graham, Kay and Julie
In 1991 Graham and Kay started Country Gates and Graham has been hand crafting wooden farm gates ever since and sending them all over Australia.
Country Gates has since expanded into metal gates. The powder coated gates are the same basic five bar design as the timber gates but appeal to the customer who prefers less maintenance.
In 2005 Graham and Kay's daughter Julie, who has a design degree, started making the timber gates. When Julie tells people she works with Dad at Country Gates and makes the gates, some people think she is joking, whereas others congratulate her for taking on what is seen as a male dominated job. Julie finds it very satisfying to get in a pack of timber and then produce a beautiful hand crafted wooden gate.
The Country Gates motto is: "If it's worth doing, do it well."
Graham makes this promise: "If you are not satisfied with your gate when you receive it, you can return it for a full refund."
